Just See the new Release of the Openshot Video Editor, this is a burning point on a Linux System because right now IMHO there is no real good Editor available.
I tried also Kdenlive, pitivi and also Kino but noone is really easy.

So I open a Call at LSI to get help from there because everyone say that the controller should cover such errors.They found out that my Disk are not compatible with my Controller with 3 GBs so I have to limit it to 1.5 GBs.
But also this does not help, so I decide to half my capacity to 2 x 2TB brutto, also this had no succes. At the End I get a new Controller from LSI ( really thanks a lot to LSI for that good Support ! ). They have excellent Scripts for collecting logs and very good Support People.
Also with the new controller I get the same errors on XFS –> so I open another Bugzilla:

After the XFS don’t had any success I try it with ext4 ( this must be a rock solid Filesystem ), maybe not !

no Idea why I have some special files in my data / home ?
I try to rerun this test. xfs_repair found errors but I have to put away the
xfs logs.
In the meantime I try another test. I build with my 4 2 TB Disks two Raid1 with
2TB brutto and format it with ext4 ( assumption that the xfs filesystem is bad
or the Disksize is to much)
The disks are presentend to the Host System Enif ( Fedora13 ) and one is
exported to the Guest Scheat( Fedora13 ) with LVM on it and then ext4 as a
disk.

- mount over nfs the data to Host and to guest
- rsync the data from nfs mounted share to the attached disk

So after a few month I have now a running Homeserver again and migrated all my stuff from the old HP ML370 ( which used actually lot of power )
After a few years of having a old Proliant ML370 Server with a Pentium III i decide to go with a AMD Athlon DualCore and install KVM for having some virtual Servers.
But there where some problems, as usual.

Since Digikam 10.0 the Picasweb Uploader works very well. Also the other Uploaders are easy to handle and works just out of the box.

IMHO really no Problem, ok Linux is not Windows so not every Feature is available exact in the same Way as on Linux. But right now I run Linux since around 6 Years and I have for almost all my needs a Linuxsoftware.
With Ubuntu I found my Distribution that is really designed for Enduser.
If you do Linux on Desktop for Business the my proposal is really do it in steps, so you don’t end up with a disaster. Also testing is really essential, integrate your Customer into a beta program and allow feedback.

Ich probiere immer wieder andere von den Vorzügen des Ubuntu zu überzeugen und es gelingt mir immer öfters. Auch die neue Version 9.04 scheint wieder sehr gelungen. Was mich besonders beeindruckt ist das die Distribution wirklich für Enduser ausgelegt ist. Auch die konsequente umsetzung mit den Repositories ist sehr Benutzerfreundlich. Ich kann einfach das Howto von http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfect-desktop-ubuntu-9.04 aufrufen und eins zu eins übernehmen. Und danach läuft das ganze auch!
I definitiv have to try the Fedora Sugar Desktop, maybe for my Kids. Looks pretty easy.
Or maybe there is a Netbook remix arround
