Open Source in the Switzerland Government

 | Tuesday, 26. May 2009 23:49

In the Government Area Switzerland is really not in the Top 10 :-( Maybe that’s also the reason because OpenSource never get the chance !

Red Hat get the Lead to change to challenge Microsoft in this area. I really hope they win with this, and give OpenSource a chance.

Maybe I also should look into this Distro, when it will available. Also the TrueCrypt addons looks very good.

Linux on the Desktop

 | 23:23

IMHO really no Problem, ok Linux is not Windows so not every Feature is available exact in the same Way as on Linux. But right now I run Linux since around 6 Years  and I have for almost all my needs a Linuxsoftware.

With Ubuntu I found my Distribution that is really designed for Enduser.

If you do Linux on Desktop for Business the my proposal is really do it in steps, so you don’t end up with a disaster. Also testing is really essential, integrate your Customer into a beta program and allow feedback.

Magny-Cours versu Nehalem EX

 | 23:06

Next Year will be extrem exiting with all this new CPU’s. Also because AMD don’t support 8 Sockets anymore with the Maranello Platform and in the First time Intel do ;-)

I really look forward to do some testing with this stuff.
